Welcome to the first issue of The Art Newsletter.
Section 1 - grounding
Art, as we know it, is not actually subject to the laws of physics, the laws of mathematics, the laws of nature, or the laws of human love. Art exists in a realm of three dimensions, and great art extends into the fourth dimension, which is time itself. But little do we think of the fifth dimension that art exists in, and that is the consciousness, the subconsciousness, and the elevated thoughts of human beings that mirror the image of God.
That's why sacred art resonates on a higher frequency than regular art. Art that is made to connect one to the divine, in whatever fashion that may be, means more than art that is simply made to just uplift someone or make someone feel one of the many human emotions. Jesus is an artist, but one who allows freedom for his art (human beings, plants, animals, the environment we reside in) to express in itself what it wants to be. I ask what human art is created that gives full freedom to the creation to become either what it was intended to be, or to reject its commands and become something else? That freedom, which is love, is the art that Christ fabricated at the very existence of our universe. I believe that my thoughts about art are more than thoughts of stars in the sky, one (of the many) purposes of my life. A mission that God set before me when my DNA was being divinely knitted in the womb.
This first newsletter is here to collect these thoughts into a place where it's easy for one to grasp and understand. These newsletters may at times seem trivial and simple, being here for the purpose of fun, (which we hope it is) but under the surface, there is something greater when we think about art: art that is pointing to something outside of space and time, the one who created time itself. It is us, like mere bruised insects attempting to lift our broken wings up to the sky and fly, wings attached to even the greatest of human creations barely reach off the ground, (we ought to have no fear of becoming Icarus, who tragically flew too close to the sun, for our God is a consuming fire, whose holiness we use to quench our dehydrated souls) compared to the infinite multitude of imagination of our creator. But even with our filthy rags, our art is pleasing to him with proper intention, the intention to be pure to what God has created us to be, our personality.
