There is no home for Christian arts. We're building it.
What are we building exactly?
There are publications for contemporary art. For film criticism. For music journalism. For literature. For design.
But None of them are for us.
Not one serious publication exists today dedicated to covering contemporary art, music, film, and literature from a Christian perspective. Not one platform committed to finding the best Christian artists working right now and giving them the critical attention they deserve.
That's what The Art Newsletter is becoming.
We cover the arts in all of its forms. Music, film, visual art, literature — not devotional content, not sanitized reviews, but real criticism and real conversation about what Christians are making and why it matters.
But who are we?
We are two college students who met in the Army Reserves.
Wolfgang Burst (who you have probably seen on instagram) is a musician, landscape architecture intern, and Geography student at the University of Texas at Austin. Brian Lee is a writer, NASA intern, and engineering student at Texas State University with a deep love for literature and complex ideas.
We chose the reserves because we knew that building what we wanted to build required someone willing to help fund it. That decision said everything about how seriously we take this platform we are building with all of you.
Our shared love for the arts is what started The Art Newsletter. The gap we kept seeing is what made us commit to it.
We won't pretend this is easy. We're asking you to take a chance on two young men with a vision and a small but growing team of Christian creatives who deserve to be paid for their work. Our founding member spots go directly toward making that happen — paying our writers, covering our operating costs, and keeping this publication alive long enough to become what we know it can be.
We have 100 founding member spots at $5 a month. 20 are taken.
We believe in this mission completely. And we cannot complete it without your support.
